Heading Out
Original Painting| Oil on canvas | 94 x 76cm
The work portrays the experience of young contemporary women navigating their way through an urban environment. They present a united front and have each other’s backs as they move to their destination somewhere in inner Melbourne. Their surrounds, rendered in a sketchy graffiti like style, highlight the transient and fast-moving nature of the city, a contrast to their own solidarity and connectedness.
