Greetings!
And suddenly it’s almost the end of November! I had a fantastic trip up to Ningaloo and the surrounding area in October. There’s not much that beats the crystal, turquoise waters of the Coral Bay area for inspiration and I’m working on a couple of new water paintings in response to the colours of Turquoise Bay and the waters around Denham and Monkey Mia. Several commissioned artworks for various beautiful homes in Western Australia and Queensland have also been keeping me busy.

To celebrate the beginning of summer in Perth, I’ve just completed this painting, Synchronized swimmers. With much of Australia being let loose after months of lockdown, this work captures something of the sense of anticipation and readiness for action! It recontextualises and combines elements from my water girl paintings and floral works. The ocean is just visible in the background and the rather retro bathing caps drip down the canvas.
Here’s me with my work, Magic mycelium at the opening of the Invitation Art award last month in Joondalup. It was a stunning event with a lot of high caliber and thought-provoking work. Magic mycelium is 900 x 900mm and is available for purchase.
